Aircraft Readiness

Maintenance & Dispatch

Maintenance and dispatch procedures keep aircraft status visible, lessons organized, and safety decisions clear before the aircraft leaves the ramp.

Aircraft status matters

Students, renters, and instructors should review aircraft status before flight and report discrepancies promptly. A small question on the ground is easier to solve than an avoidable problem in the air.

Dispatch flow

Dispatch coordination includes confirming the scheduled aircraft, instructor or renter status, weather suitability, maintenance status, required documents, and expected return.

Squawks and follow-up

Aircraft discrepancies should be reported clearly with the aircraft, date, time, description, and operating context. Staff can then coordinate maintenance review and scheduling changes when needed.

Before dispatch

  • Confirm aircraft assignment
  • Review aircraft status and open items
  • Confirm weather and lesson plan
  • Confirm required documents
  • Complete preflight inspection
  • Ask staff before flight if status is unclear

After flight

  • Close out the reservation
  • Record time accurately
  • Report discrepancies promptly
  • Leave aircraft secured and clean
  • Communicate delays or maintenance concerns to staff
