Document preparation
International students should bring original passport documents, visa or permanent resident documentation when applicable, pilot certificates, medical certificate, and FAA verification paperwork when converting or validating prior credentials.
AFSP and TSA training requests
Flight training may require Alien Flight Student Program approval before training can begin. Students should keep AFSP request emails and approval records available for school review.
Visa and I-20 status
TFA Flight Academy does not issue visas or I-20s. Students who require immigration guidance should work directly with the appropriate school, sponsor, attorney, or government resource before planning travel around flight training.
Bring original documents
- Passport
- Visa or permanent resident document when applicable
- FAA pilot certificate if applicable
- Foreign pilot certificate or license if applicable
- FAA verification letter when converting a foreign license
- Current medical certificate
- Form I-20 when applicable
- AFSP training request emails
Before travel
- Confirm training eligibility
