TFA Flight Academy
Checkout required
Pilots must complete the aircraft-specific checkout required by TFA before renting. Checkout expectations depend on certificate level, recent flight experience, aircraft type, insurance requirements, and instructor evaluation.
Renter readiness
Renters should bring pilot certificate, medical certificate when required, government ID, logbook, and any documents needed to prove currency or endorsements. Instrument renters should bring current charts or an approved electronic flight bag.
Scheduling and responsibility
Aircraft rental is subject to aircraft availability, maintenance status, weather, dispatch approval, and school policies. Renters are responsible for safe planning, proper aircraft care, timely communication, and compliance with TFA procedures.
Renter checklist
- Pilot certificate
- Medical certificate when required
- Government-issued photo ID
- Logbook showing currency and endorsements
- Aircraft-specific checkout
- Current charts or EFB when applicable
- Signed rental or operating agreement when required
Rental limits
- Aircraft availability and maintenance status control scheduling
- Weather and dispatch decisions may cancel or delay rental
- School policies and insurance requirements may require additional dual instruction
- Aircraft must be returned in accordance with TFA procedures
