Start Training

Admissions

Admissions at TFA Flight Academy starts with confirming your goal, reviewing required documents, and building a training plan that fits your schedule and certificate path.

Step 1: Choose your training path

New students usually begin with a discovery flight or an admissions conversation. Returning pilots can start by reviewing current certificates, medical status, currency, and the rating or checkout they want to complete.

Step 2: Prepare required documents

Students should bring government-issued photo identification and proof of citizenship when required. Pilots who already hold certificates should also bring their pilot certificate, current medical certificate, logbook, and any FAA or foreign-license documents that apply.

Step 3: Set up scheduling and orientation

After documents and goals are reviewed, staff can help align aircraft availability, instructor availability, ground training needs, and next steps for the first lesson or checkout.

Admissions checklist

  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Passport or birth certificate when citizenship verification is required
  • FAA pilot certificate if already certificated
  • Current FAA medical certificate when required for the training activity
  • Logbook for pilots with prior time
  • Training goal, expected start date, and schedule availability

Good first questions

  • Which certificate or rating are you pursuing?
  • How many days per week can you train?
  • Do you need ground school, flight training, or both?
  • Do you already have flight time or written test results?
  • Are you training locally or traveling to Daytona Beach?
